Wolves v Fulham Preview

Fulham, not blessed with the best of away records, start a run of two consecutive weekend away games with a trip to Wolverhampton this Saturday. Thankfully, we do have a home fixture this Wednesday, against Bolton Wanderers, to break up the travelling. Can Fulham get a result at relegation threatened Wolves?

Vital Quotes:

The game does off course see Bobby Zamora face the side against whom he suffered that bad leg injury, a side that should include the player who, accidentally inflicted it, Karl Henry.

Ahead of the clash Henry has had some words for Zamora about that incident, remarking,

"When you`re talking about an injury to a player, it`s not something you easily brush off. I spoke to Bobby when it happened and I`ve spoken to him since and I`m really pleased to see he`s fully fit and scoring goals."

"I hope he gets back in the England squad soon and he seems to have picked up where he left off, so I`m really pleased."

How about netting the winner Bobby, then justice will be seen to be done!

Wolves Team News:

Mick McCarthy will be without the injured trio of Doyle, Elokobi and Zubar with the duo of Hunt and Edwards rated as doubtful.

Our sources infer that Ward will deputise for the injured Elokobi and that Hunt will face a late fitness test.

Player to watch: Matthew Jarvis

The first Wolves player since Steve Bull to wear an England shirt and a wide-man who could prove to be a thorn in our side.

Fulham Team News:

Mark Hughes will be without Damien Duff and Philippe Senderos, both of whom are injured. Apart from that Sparky has a full squad to choose from.

At Vital Fulham we don`t expect Mark Hughe sot deviate too much from the following starting eleven:-

Schwarzer, Baird, Hughes, Hangeland, Salcido, Murphy, Etuhu, Demspey, Kakuta, Dembele, Zamora.

Player to watch: Moussa Dembele

Can Moussa reproduce the form he showed when he first broke into our side? Lately, he hasn`t been quite the same player, but that`s only my opinion.

Match Facts & Stats

Can Fulham do the double over Wolves is the question we`d like answered.

If we are then we have to reverse a trend that has seen Wolves win the last five encounters against us, a run that has lasted since 1985.

If we were to beat Wolves, on Saturday, then it would be the first time we`ve won home and away against them in our history.

Ref Watch:

Our officials are Michael Oliver (referee), Mick McDonough and Andy Newbold (assistants) and Phil Gibbs (fourth official)

Match Prediction:

It`s always hard to predict an away win for Fulham, our poor away form doesn`t give you much cause for optimism. But this weekend I reckon we can do it. Wolves have a habit of doing well against the top teams and struggling against the poor teams, seeing as we fit somewhere between the two I guess anything can happen. Fulham by a single goal, 1-0!

Next Fixtures:

It`s another away trip next weekend when we take the long road to Sunderland.

Important match. Win and we can relax a little bit and enjoy the rest of the season. Lose and we'll need to be careful. If Sidwell is ready, I'd like to see him replace Etuhu, but regardless, if we defend well we should win. 2-1 Fulham.
