Ex-Fulham Target?

During the dark days, the Sanchez days, it was recognised that due to the horrific injury Brian McBride had suffered, we were lacking a powerful striker.

To rectify the situation, the tabloid press had us linked to the Northern Ireland (no surprise there) international forward, Kyle Lafferty.

Many of us questioned his suitability; after all he had no Premier League experience and was raw to say the least.

Nevertheless, as a target I felt it was my duty to cast my eye over him. However, before I could come to a satisfactory conclusion, Sanchez departed and Hodgson took over.

Since then, Roy has signed Erik Nevland and Eddie Johnson, couple that with the fact that Brian McBride is now back from injury and we can satisfactorily surmise that the lack of a powerful striker syndrome has been negated.

However, I`ve kept my eye on Lafferty and he`s still a much wanted man.

The latest clubs to be keen to secure his services are Charlton and Glasgow Celtic!

Makes you sort of wonder, did Sanchez have a gem right under his nose all the time or would he also have proven to be too lightweight, too inexperienced and out of his depth in the Premier League?

does the fact that Charlton (Championship class) and Celtic (struggling class) are showing interest tell you he ain't Prem class?
