It just goes to show how strange a game football can be!
Just weeks after being lauded as something akin to a hero after notching up a new European Championships Qualifiers scoring record with Northern Ireland, David Healy has now somewhat fallen from grace.
Signed by Lawrie Sanchez, in the summer, Healy has struggled to reproduce the kind of form he has consistently shown on the international stage at club level. After a promising start in a Fulham shirt, whereby he netted in the first minute of the new season, against Arsenal, he has constantly failed to trouble the scorers.
Under Lawrie Sanchez we were force fed some drivel about the club working on his strength and his staying power whereas the present incumbent of the managerial chair, Roy Hodgson, has seemingly worked out that he needed other options in the shape of Erik Nevland, Eddie Johnson and possibly (still) Daniel Cousin.
Therefore, with his first team options seemingly extremely limited, rumours are circulating that Healy could well be loaned out to a Championship club.
Although the transfer window is effectively shut, Football League rules permit loan signings to be made seven days after the window has shut - strange but supposedly true.
Currently leading the list of clubs who are rumoured to be keen to take Healy on loan are Sheffield Wednesday.
If the move materialises I`m sure you`ll join us in wishing Healy every success as he no doubt ponders the great question - why hasn`t he managed to hack it in the Premier League?
