Clement and Brunt?

Clement and Brunt?

Reports today have linked Fulham with a double raid, into the Championship, for Neil Clement and Chris Brunt.

Clement is currently playing for West Bromwich Albion as is Brunt. However, it appears that Reading are also in the hunt for Brunt.

Brunt was off course a close season target for Lawrie Sanchez but the winger chose West Bromwich Albion after Sheffield Wednesday turned down Fulham`s bid.

Brunt cost West Bromwich Albion £3 million in the summer so it would take a hefty bid to lure him away from the Hawthorns. With Steve Coppell also showing an interest, the potential transfer could end up in a bidding war. Do we really want that?

As for the versatile Clement, a player who can play left back, centre back and in midfield, it`s interesting to see that he has only made two starts in the Championship this season.

Clement would provide competition for Paul Konchesky and the proposed deal would see Clement sign, on loan, for the remainder of the season.

However, we doubt whether Tony Mowbray will entertain the idea seeing as he has already sent Tininho on loan to Barnsley and needs Clement as back up for his regular defender, Paul Robinson.

However, we`ll endeavour to keep you informed of any developments ahead of the transfer window closing on Thursday night.
