Cho Jae-jin update

Several sources are suggesting that Fulham are close to doing a deal for the South Korean striker, Cho Jae-jin.

Indeed, on of those sources is none other than his agent. At twenty seven the former Shimizu S-Pulse forward has been looking to get into the Premier League for several months. It is thought that previously talks with Newcastle and Portsmouth have floundered.

IFA Sports hold his contractual rights and they have told the Korea Times that Fulham have tried to negotiate a deal with the striker.

This is what they had to say,

'We consider it a reasonable offer, and we have many reasons to believe that the talks will produce a good result this time.'

'Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has high regards for Cho's ability, and Cho made it clear he wants to play there,'

'We think it would be a good fit.'

Any deal would re-unite Cho with Ki-Hyeon giving us an instant link between the two. According to reports, Cho has been training with Fulham for the past week and Hodgson seems keen to take a punt on the player.

This is what Hodgson had to say on the matter,

"He (Cho) is a South Korean international who has done really well in the
J-League'

"He is a very interesting player and this week we'll be sitting down with him and talking about the future.'

Looks like this one could be a goer then!

He is not a real fan favorite in Korea either. That said, I think his game is very much like Brian McBride's. Not saying he's as tough as McBride, but Cho heads the ball well, holds the ball well and has a real nose for the goal. I don't think he'll be the savior that keeps the club up though.
