Van Buyton Interests Fulham!

Van Buyton Interests Fulham!

With the defence needing stiffening up, Fulham are reported as being interested in signing Daniel Van Buyten.

Van Buyten currently plays for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and it appears he is close to leaving Germany for a spell in the Premier League. His agent, Christophe Henrotay, is suggesting that Tottenham, Fulham, Everton and Sunderland are all showing an interest.

Van Buyten joined Munich in June 2006 after leaving Hamburger SV, however, since Ottmar Hitzfeld returned to the Bavarian giants, he has struggled to hold down a place.

Van Buyten has played in the Premier League before. In 2004, the Belgian international spent a spell on loan at Manchester City.

A suggestion of a move to the Premier League has been bolstered by the player himself who has indicated that he is disappointed by his current lack of opportunities in Munich despite the German side having a poor season last year trailing in sixth in the Bundesliga.

His agent, Henrotay had this to say to the Daily Star,

'Every English club outside the big four that needs a central defender has shown an interest in Daniel."

'Sunderland, Everton, Wigan, Tottenham and Fulham have all contacted me about him.'

As for Van Buyton, he had this to say,

'I am unhappy with my current situation."

Let`s hope this is one that Fulham can win.
