Hodgson - Trouble Ahead!

No one said it was going to be easy!

The opening line, a classic line from the theme tune to the classic series Auf Wiedersehn Pet!

Unfortunately, it seems to apply to our chances of signing new players during the January transfer window. Our current precarious league position means that Roy Hodgson could have trouble selling the club to potential players.

Here`s what he had to say in a recent interview with the assembled journalists ahead of the West Ham game,

'I have not run into a problem where a player is turning us down because of our situation - but I may well do.

'You would like to have players who say they will be here for the good times and the bad but it is a little naive to think like that.

'My dream would be to have players who want to come here and think they
can make the team better and ones who do not think we will go down.

'But I may have to be realistic. There might be a player with a particular
quality we are looking for who might insist on a relegation release clause
in his contract.'

The far from quirky nature of being in the relegation zone splendidly discussed!
