'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Liverpool Youngster Targeted!

Fulham boss, Roy Hodgson reportedly has his eyes on Liverpool youngster Danny Guthrie with a reported 3 million bid in the pipeline

The highly promising midfielder is wanted to help steady the Craven Cottage ship and at twenty years of age is seen as one for the future as well.

Guthrie is currently on a season long loan deal with fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers and has also been tracked by many other clubs. Bolton would also like to make the deal permanent but it is not certain that Liverpool will want to part with the youngster.

Rafa Benitez has been tracking his progress and had this to say,

'We have had our scouts watching him and we are really pleased because he is playing well'

'We have a lot of confidence in Guthrie."

'He needed to play games and we thought Bolton was the right club for him because Sammy Lee and Frank McParland were there at the start of the season."

'Although they have now left the club he is in the Bolton team, and is showing the quality that we thought he had'

I get the feeling this is one player that may not be coming to Craven Cottage despite the rumours.

On the contrary, he's not Spanish, you've every chance ;-)

Guthrie's a player who, in the coming years, will be a first-team player at a solid Premier League club, if not Liverpool. I doubt he'll want to move to a club that's heading for the Championship.

thanks for the vote of confidence Aamir!
Putney
ignore him, he's young and gobby :-)

Merlin, I'm surprised you can find the energy to type at your keyboard! Living through 7 centuries, 30 Prime Ministers and near enough 15 Monarchs must take a lot out of you! :) And Putney, I actually quite like Fulham but I think I'm right when I say you're going down. Still, could be worse, you could be Derby!
