American Influence to Grow?

American Influence to Grow?

Reports are surfacing that suggest that new Fulham manager, Roy Hodgson, is looking at another American international.

The player in question this time is Eddie Johnson.

The established and much respected daily, The Times, are reporting that Fulham are preparing a £3 million bid to lure the striker away form the Kansas City Wizards.

Johnson, since 2006, has scored 17 goals in 40 appearances for the Wizards.

Johnson has also been chased by several other clubs, notably Derby, Manchester City, Middlesbrough and Reading along with Celtic, Benfica and Real Sociedad away form English football.

If Fulham launch a bid expect competition to be fierce.

Well lets see what Wikipedia knows about him; Eddie Johnson is a target for Roy Hodgson's Fulham. The Times says the United States forward turned down a move to Derby County in the summer after a fee of about £3 million was agreed. He chose to stay at the Kansas City Wizards and has attracted interest from Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Reading and Benfica. Johnson's contract is structured to give him the final say over whether he is purchased by any one of 15 designated clubs, with Manchester United among them
