'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robbie Savage - Fulham Bound!

It`s inevitable that we need to spend this January, Roy Hodgson has already implied so suggesting that the balance of the team is all wrong and is partially to blame for our current position.

Therefore, it`s also inevitable that several names, many unlikely, are to be thrown into the proverbial hat during the coming days.

One of these is Robbie Savage.

The tabloids are today reporting that Fulham and Derby are both interested in signing the, currently, out of favour Blackburn midfielder.

Now Savage is one of those players who you just love to hate, his demeanour hardly endears him to the fans, that is, unless he`s playing for you, then he falls into the category of players who`d die for you.

At thirty three years of age he`s no spring chicken but at a time when our club desperately needs an injection of charisma and somebody to inject a bit of energy and brute force into our midfield, I have the opinion that he would be a good short term, maybe twelve month, buy.

The only problem currently on the horizon is that Derby, under the stewardship of Paul Jewell, could be prepared to make him captain.

Come on Robbie, where is more appealing? Is it life in the 'West End` of London or shut away in the market towns of Derbyshire?

Or, how do you fancy a challenge Lily, like most fans i`ve spat (football) venom at him against us many times, as have many others, but for sure he`ll do a great job for us.It will be hard to warm to the biggest wind up merchant the game has ever seen , but if we can persuade him to come and he starts to perform as we slowly climb out of the dreaded zone we may well find ourselves with a player to rival even super Jimmy`s cult status.

yeah savage would die for his team he never stops running! isnt great on the ball but you boys are in a relegation battle and its all about fight and savage has lots of it! you say that as he is thirty three he is no spring chicken but i get the feeling that savage could play on for another three years or so!

We definatly do need a bit of mongrel in mid field which has been lacking since brown left. I actually love to love him, not hate him. He has always appealed to me as a player and always gives 110%. He looks like a rockstar too!
