'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham's Davies Honoured!

After an influential couple of weeks whereby our midfield player, Simon Davies, has hit a couple of great goals, he`s been rewarded with a great accolade by his country.

For the first time in his career, Simon will lead out a Welsh team as captain of his country.

At twenty-eight, Davies becomes the fourth captain Wales have appointed during this testing campaign and he follows in the footsteps of Ryan Giggs who has bottled out of international football, retiring in May.

Speaking ahead of the clash against the Republic of Ireland, Davies had this to say about his appointment,

"I want to lead by example - that`s the only thing you can do because you cannot be a ranter and a raver if it is not in you."

Although I`m a bona-fida Englishman, I`d like to wish Simon all the best in his new position.

Wales are rebuilding again with a very young team at the moment. I would love to see them qualify one day.

Different Davis, but just wondered how Steven was doing for you lot. Looked like a good player when he first came through for us but seems to have gone backwards.
