Sanchez - Favourite for the Axe?

Despite the 3-1 win over Reading at the weekend, a win that lifted us t the lofty heights of thirteenth place, Lawrie Sanchez has an unwanted tag!

Following the sacking of Chris Hutchings at Wigan Athletic yesterday, Lawrie Sanchez has now been established by leading bookmakers, William Hill, as the 5/4 favourite to be the next victim of the managerial axe!

Quite how those odds are calculated remains a mystery, surely Billy Davies, at 2-1, is a better bet.

Also, with four managers having gone this season already, Jose Mourinho, Martin Jol, Sammy Lee and Chris Hutchings, it`s worth pointing out that two went after losing to Chelsea (Sammy Lee and Chris Hutchings), one went because he managed Chelsea (Jose Mourinho) and the other, well you make you`re mind up.

Suffice to say, since we came away from Stamford Bridge with a creditable draw, I`d like to think the bookmakers have got it wrong this time!

I think he's safe for the immediate future but the New Year may be the tricky period!

I don't think many managers can feel particularly safe nowadays.

pandapops
he is only the favorite beacuse all the other crap managers have been sacked i'm sure that al fayed wont give him the sack at least until next summer "depending on results" which should change soon as Super Jimmy Bullard will be back soon bringing his super powers to the whole team
Backslash2010
Billy Davies to go first - Lawrie will be okay!
