Healy Missing McBride!

With Brian McBride tipped to make his comeback from injury in the fixture against Wigan Athletic on December 22nd, Lawrie Sanchez has spoken briefly about the difference McBride makes to one of our close season buys.

The player in question is our Northern Ireland international, David Healy.

Healy started the season in fine style, scoring in our opening two fixtures, but just recently he`s struggled to find the net with Simon Davies being our only scorer during the past month.

Sanchez, in a recent interview, has suggested that Healy worked better playing off of McBride and picking up the occasional knock-on. He remarked,

"They had formed a reasonably good relationship. David needs someone to play off because he won`t win the aerial challenges."

It`s a good point Lawrie, Healy belongs to that breed of footballer that works better on the deck than in the air, however, would it be churlish to ask why, if McBride was so important to Healy`s style of play we had nobody else waiting to fill in for McBride?
