It Took the Wind out of our Sails!

It Took the Wind out of our Sails!

The home defeat against Portsmouth, on Sunday, has hit us hard. After spending £27 million in the transfer window, we`d hoped for something better this season.

Instead, we languish in the bottom three and the thoughts of relegation, despite there being a plethora of games to go, are starting to dominate our thoughts.

More worryingly, we`re going to have to wait two weeks, courtesy of the international break, to try and get things back on track, a point not lost on our captain, Carlos Bocanegra, who had this to say when interviewed after the game,

"This has taken the wind out of sails a bit. It`s probably our worst second half display of the season. We can`t afford that right now."

All of a sudden the next fixture, against Derby County, is starting to look like our biggest fixture of the season, isn`t it?
