'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ferguson Praises Healy!

Praise for David Healy has come from an unlikely source!

In fact, I`m seriously beginning to wonder if one of the elder statesmen of English football is mellowing in his old age.

A matter of days after his frank admission that he shouldn`t have let personal feelings encroach into his decision to let Jap Stam leave Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson has taken time out to offer David Healy some praise.

Healy, off course, started his career at Manchester United and if I recall rightly even made a fleeting debut in the Premiership. Unfortunately for Healy, he was soon sold on to Preston North End for a fee of 1.5 million

Nevertheless, Sir Alex Ferguson freely admits he often keeps tabs on how the players he has sold are doing and this is what he had to say,

"David`s always been a fantastic goal scorer and is proving it."

"It was hard to imagine he`d go on to that level when we let him go. He deserves it and will do well."

I guess the old boy is mellowing!
