Knight to Join Villa?

Knight to Join Villa?

Only months after signing a new contract, a contract many though wouldn`t be offered, our central defender Zat Knight is reportedly on his way to Aston Villa.

Knight, who was famously involved in some sort of fracas with his brother last season and subsequently missed several games, appeared to have weathered any problems he had at Fulham. Indeed, he`s been a mainstay in the teams Lawrie Sanchez has selected this season.

Therefore his forthcoming transfer has come as a bit of a shock.

Indeed, it leaves us Fulham fans wondering whether Lawrie Sanchez has another signing up his sleeve as the transfer of Knight will leave us a little short in the centre of defence.

Perhaps Martin O`Neill was impressed by his performance against Aston Villa on Saturday whereby he was unfortunate enough to score an own goal although in all fairness he had little chance of avoiding it.

It`s probably fair to say that Zat wasn`t ever one of the most popular Fulham players and I`d hazard a guess that Aston Villa supporters are currently a little aghast that a club with such powerful backing has settled for such a signing.

However, perhaps Martin O`Neill is the man to bring on a defender who has played for England at U21 and full levels since being signed by Kevin Keegan back in 1999.

We here at Vital Fulham would like to wish Zat every success at his new club whilst we ponder over how to invest the £4 million received.

I dont think Hughes is worth 1million, Ridgewell is worth about 500,000 he is shocking - Championship defender at best. Hughes was a very weak link for Villa at RB.

The one area of the team that drastically needs strengthening and Sanchez decides to sell a first team regular, regardless how badly people rate him, and freeze out another regular in Rosenior. Sorry Lawrie but you're going further down in my estimation very quickly.

Seems to be disliked by Fulham fans, or little respect anyway, what do you reckon guys? Also linked with Rosenior, why has he been frozen out?

This is like when you spot an eye-watering babe you used to go out with, and she's with some swish dude, and you think "Yeah, but she has a mole on her knee, so I'm better off without"......
