The Squad Review. Part 1.

With Fulham`s incomings more or less completed, I think the time is right to have a squad review.

Goalkeepers:

Antti Niemi: Undisputed quality, great keeper just needs to be more vocal with his defence but overall I am delighted we have the Finnish keeper and of course he'll be number one this season.

Ricardo Batista: At Wycombe on loan last season was deemed a tad bit eccentric by the Wycombe fans but overall they were pleased with the young Portuguese keeper. Having just signed a new deal, you could expect him depending on his progress to deputise for Niemi next season.

Tony Warner: A wee bit useless but a good third choice keeper in regards to having experience and being a strong presence in the defence.

Defenders:

Moritz Volz: Brilliant when on loan from Arsenal but performances declined at right back under the previous management before last season excelling at central midfield. A true fans favourite and am delighted he is at the Cottage.

Liam Rosenior: This boy is a future England international, his tackling is divine but his failure is passing but if he can improve on this fault boy would we have a right back that is quality.

Carlos Bocanegra: A good squad player, gets important goals, here's hoping he signs a new deal because we love him.

Ian Pearce: Straight to the point, a lot of heart but too old and not good enough for this level.

Franck Queudrue: Failed to settle last season, expect him to move on if Fulham receive a bid of three million pounds onwards.

Paul Konchesky: Good steady left back, had a great first season at West Ham, earning an England clap and playing brilliantly against Argentina unfortunately Fulham are going to have to buy a boat and put it in the Thames for his crossing is that shocking and they'll need to retrieve the balls.

Philippe Christanval: Quality oozes from this guy, unfortunately is always injured and is expected to leave.

Chris Baird: Probably the toughest defender at Fulham, delighted to have him and he is very versatile which adds depth to the squad.

Zat Knight: I won't say stared for Fulham last season instead I'll use the word played. Knight played a lot for Fulham last season and well that's about it really. He was poor but hopefully will vastly improve under Mr Sanchez.

Aaron Hughes: Experienced, tough campaigner, probably past his best but will definitely add something to the Fulham team this forthcoming season.

Tune in tomorrow for a review on the attacking side of the squad.

Aaron Hughes past his best at 27, should be just reaching his prime at that age!!! Nice summary though, I'm a bit worried about losing Niemi for a long period and nobody to push him for the number 1.

Well yeah, sitting on the bench all those yearsis definitley going to take something away from his Game
Mike Forest.

in all honesty I 'd have to admit your squad is looking stronger than last season.

Another thing with liam is that he backs off way too much!! Aaron is nowhere near past his best surly!! Also regarding Christinval i will be sad to see the back of him if he does leave!!
