Lawrie Sanchez has added a striker to the Fulham team as we all know, but will he perform for Fulham and bring us the results that we need?
Sanchez has given Diomansy Kamara this chance to prove himself and to show the world he is Premiership material. Having played in top flight for Portsmouth, first impressions of the striker when he first joined obviously didn`t impress, he soon left.
So what will he do for us at Fulham?
Diomansy Kamara started his professional football career at Red Star 93 where after a year he was signed by Catanzaro, where he scored nine goals in thirty nine appearances for the club. He was then signed by Modena FC where Diomansy score fourteen goals for the club in eighty one appearances.
Portsmouth noticed this star and signed him for the clubs record deal of £2.5 million. But they eventually found out that he wasn`t the star they thought he was because he found it difficult to adjust to the style of play in the Premiership.
In the first season at Portsmouth he struggled to get in form and ended up only scoring four goals in twenty five appearances. Kamara was soon dropped from the team and in the same year Portsmouth stuck Kamara onto the bench and he never got a chance to show the world his ultimate skills!!
He was sold to West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies noticed this rough diamond and nurtured him to become the star that he is today. In the 2005/06 season he found it difficult to get into rhythm at West Brom where he only scored 2 goals.
But after that West Brom fans saw the striker come into fantastic form and ended up scoring twenty one goals in just sixty appearances for the club, which helped them get into the 2006/07 play-offs. The Championship world was impressed.
His record shows that he is ready for the Premiership and he has speed and skill. just what Fulham need!
If you were a bit worried about Kamara hopefully this has put your mind at ease.
But I have read about West Brom fans saying that the striker only wants to perform when he wants to. But as we all know you cannot perform when you want in the Premier League, you need to give 100% all the time and Sanchez`s no sh*t approach will surely make Kamara perform, as Lawrie wants competition for places in the first team all season.
