Fulham lose out on Baird!

Chris Baird, the Southampton defender linked with Fulham, appears to be on the way to Sunderland.

It is being reported on Sky Sports News that a fee has been agreed, rumoured to be in the region of £3.5 million and that Roy Keane has convinced the defender that the future at Sunderland is bright.

With Zat Knight having signed a new contract, keeping him at Fulham until 2010, we`re not exactly crying out for a central defender although the rumour mill has already linked us with Danny Shittu, currently playing at Watford.

We`ll endeavour to keep you informed.

I've read that a deal has been agreed but Baird still hasn't spoken to Sunderland, we're still in with a shout here!

you really dont want *Shittu, because like spurs and bent, you would have the shame of having that name on the back of your replica shirts!
