'If It's Football, It's Vital'

For the Small Minded Fulham Fan.

It is another six day and six nights before the transfer window officialy opens, yet these days all I read about is how depressed a Fulham fan is because of the lack of transfer activity, well here's the facts. Five clubs including us, Fulham, have not signed a player but does that have have been mainly a free transfer or one for the future.

Arsenal have signed a young goalkeeper, Luis Fabianski and he will more than likely be shipped out on loan.

Aston Villa have signed no one.

Birmingham have signed Stuart Parnaby on a free transfer.

Blackburn have signed no one and won't do until their takeover by Daniel Williams.

Bolton have signed Jlloyd Samuel on a free transfer, Gavin McCann for one million pounds and Zoltan Harsanyi from FC Senec on an undiclosed fee.

Chelsea have signed three players on a free transfer.

Derby have signed no one.

Everton have signed no one.

Fulham have signed no one.

Liverpool have signed two Hungarian youngsters.

Manchester City have signed no one and won't until they appoint a manager.

Manchester United have spent over fifty million pounds on three players, probably not signing anyone else this summer.

Middlesbrough have signed two players, one free transfer.

Newcastle, always going to wheel and deal for all the summer with Sam Allyrdyce as manager. Two players already, one fee involved.

Portsmouth read above but with Harry Redknapp as manager.

Reading, one signing, Kalifa Cisse.

Sunderland, one signing, Greg Halford.

Tottenham, two young signings but for quite large fees.

West Ham United, one, Scott Parker.

Wigan, three players, two freebies.

You see most of these transfers have been freebies and alot are transfers for the future, so to be fair there are around half of the clubs in the Premiership who haven't made a 'proper' signing, so wait for first of July, the official opening of the transfer window and let the real fun begin.

here here , i am sick of this on the Villa board as well mate
It's made me feel a whole lot better! Although we'll need to get moving soon as the players report back for pre-season training soon!
trouble is, you're not a fashionable club and you don't pay huge wages!
we are fashionable, we are nike now. ;)
Mike Forest.
Considering that most other Premiership clubs haven't released 7 players either, this kind of explains why we're being a bit small minded. Sanchez said at the close of last season that he was surprised at the lack of depth in the squad and that would be one of his key objectives in the summer. He then releases 4 first team players and 3 loanees return to their clubs, we then read an interview in Fultime that Sanchez is looking to bring in at least 6 new faces. Either I can't add up or that means there will be less competition for places at the club next season.
yes but look at it this way, batista for crossley and by the sound of it Sanchez wants to give youngsters a chance, James,Briggs.
Mike Forest.
It will be good to see the youngsters get a chance, Batista, James, Briggs as you've mentioned Mike and the likes of Runstrom and Zakuani are also in the frame, but you really think that these are the players that will keep us in the Premiership next season?
James yove to be solid.
Mike Forest.
what happened there?
Mike Forest.
Interesting response Mike!!!
