Fulham have announced their full complement of friendlies for their vital pre season practice against the following; away against Dagenham and Redbridge, Brighton and Hove Albion, QPR and a tournament in Hong Kong.
I for one find it strange that there is not a single home friendly but then during the day I was struck by a brainwave (rare I know). Well I was thinking that in light of rumours going around that the pitch in Craven Cottage was being lowered to allow more seats to be added in the Hammersmith end but then I thought, seen as not one friendly will be played at home this more or less confirms that the rumours are true.
Following on from the news that Fulham will have an increased capacity which is great news considering that the club will be bringing in extra revenue, does this really signal the intent of Fayed to keep Fulham in his family for generations to come by passing it down to his sons?
This nice thought was washed away when I then remembered that Fayed tried to sell the Cottage to property developers a few years ago and maybe he's just putting a couple of seats into the Hammersmith end in the feeble attempt to make it look like he's increasing the capacity considerably whilst he's really lowering the pitch as the foundations were too high for developers to build.
I know it sounds strange but I have got myself convinced that there isn't something right about this extension. Sorry Mo for doubting you but this is just my gut instinct.
