'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Another Irish Connection for Fulham!

If the tabloids are to be believed, then Lawrie Sanchez is intent on bringing a strong Northern Irish spine to our side.

After having already been linked to David Healy (Leeds), Aaron Hughes (Aston Villa) and Steven Davis (Aston Villa) today the tabloids are carrying a report that Chris Baird (Southampton) is our latest target.

Indeed, it`s actually being reported that Southampton have turned down a bid, in the region of 2.5 million for their defender.

What puzzles us; is whether our new manager is viewing life through green-tinted spectacles with regards to the transfer market.

When the transfer window opens, perhaps he should be reminded that whilst his achievements whilst manager off Northern Ireland are worth praising, there are other players on the market other than those he managed whilst employed by the Northern Irish FA.

Your new home shirt for next season is going to be green! Would it be a bad thing if he brings in a strong nucleus of Irish players he certainly got them playing well for Ireland.

Its funny everyone from Northern Ireland thinks they are British yet all the British just call them Ireland and cant understand that there are 2 countries in Ireland. Healy would be a good signing, maybe davis but the rest are not prem quality and if he just looks out for his former comrades he could really sign some absolute donkeys, he should be making more use of his scouts.
