Sort the Defence Out First!

Sort the Defence Out First!

After surviving the trauma of nearly being relegated, and the subsequent permanent appointment of Lawrie Sanchez, we posed a probing question in our latest poll.

We asked a simple question but a question that needs to be answered if we are to next season improve upon what has been a poor eight months,

Where do we need to strengthen

The results, once analysed, probably prove that the winning area is the reason why we found ourselves in trouble this season.

A massive 66% of you believed that the defence needed looking at, obviously believing that it just isn`t good enough to mount anything other than a survival battle next season.

Elsewhere, the downcast amongst you 26% believed that everywhere required strengthening, obviously believing that the downturn in fortunes has been because the team just isn`t good enough, possibly that the sale of our best players (in all areas) never gave us a chance of keeping any upward momentum going.

Looking at the other areas, 8% believed the attack needed strengthening whilst nobody (a big fat round 0%) thought the midfield was a totally capable area.

We`ll leave you to draw your own conclusions with regards to that one.
