'If It's Football, It's Vital'

One Shot!

After roundly criticising the drivel on display at the JJB Stadium, it transpires I was not alone.

In fact, the 700 strong travelling Fulham support were also moved to make their feelings clear with chants of

"One shot, we`ve only had one shot."

"We want our money back."

"Boring, boring Fulham."

Unfortunately, their actions didn`t go down to well with our popular defender, Liam Rosenior. Liam, who has taken part in every Premiership match this season was forced into condemning their actions in a recent interview.

This is what he had to say,

"I just went to clap them and they said a few things that maybe they will regret"

"I thought that was harsh on the lads."

"Yeah, it might not have been the greatest match to watch but I think people should understand we`ve all got jobs to do and we`re all trying our best for the club. I know they`ve travelled a long way and are paying a lot of their money to come and see us, but we give our all week in week out."

"I love Fulham, my dad (Leroy), was here. I`ve been here since I was a little boy and to get a reaction like that is really disappointing. To be honest I was a bit down in the dressing room because all I want to do is play for Fulham and do my best for them.

"It`s really hurtful. We`re defending for our lives with five minutes to go and you`re hearing - boring, boring Fulham."

"A lot of teams have come to Wigan this year and not got a point. It wasn`t a football spectacle, but would it have been so good if we`d lost 4-2?"

"When you`re a defender you defend first and I thought we did that really well."

Whilst Liam understandably tried to defend the way the team played, it was interesting to see that he was fully supported in his views by Chris Coleman who remarked,

"At Fulham, Premiership football is the main thing."

"Did we come here and excite? No. We came here and worked hard. We were gritty. We`ve ground out a point at a difficult time of the season."

Thankfully, those disgruntled supporters could take a little heart form the opposition manager, Paul Jewell, who explained,

"I feel sorry for the fans who paid good money to watch this, but that`s the nature of the beast and sometimes we can`t always be entertaining."

"We`re playing survival football. It`s all about results and this means we`ve taken eight points from our last twelve."

Sadly, perhaps the fact only 16001 turned up to watch could well indicate that those who offered vocal opposition to the fare set before them; might well be right.

We need entertaining!
