Distin Linked to Fulham

Distin Linked to Fulham

Rumours are circulating that Fulham are interested in signing a new central defender.

The supposed target is the Manchester City centre-back, Sylvain Distin. The twenty-nine year old is approaching the end of his contract at Manchester; it finishes in May, and has already told City that he has no intention of signing another one.

Distin, who cost £4 million when signed from Paris St Germain in 2002, is a highly experienced centre half who has adapted to life in the Premiership.

It has been suggested that Fulham will hold talks with Distin in the near future in the hope that deal can be done. Probably the only potential stumbling block could be his salary.

As Distin is out of contract, there is the possibility that he may be seeking a larger salary than Fulham are prepared to pay.

Vital Fulham will keep you abreast of any further developments.

I remember he got sent off at our place for receiving to give the ball back to the ref at half time!

I recall that, he'd already been booked for a foul and the ref clearly asked him three times to give him the ball back but he was arguing about an earlier decision and ignored the ref!
