McBride Pips Davies!

In the first serious poll in my tenure as editor of this site, I asked who you believed deserved the accolade of man-of-the-match against those perennial blaggers Manchester United.

With a cast list of six - Davies, McBride, Radzinski, Brown, Christanval and Diop - there was every opportunity for the votes to be cast across the scale.

Thankfully, those who voted, well 46% of you, agreed with my pre-match prediction that the winner would be McBride.

The ageing forward battled on and deservedly scored our goal in a game I still insist we should never have lost.

In second place, with 23% of the vote, came Simon Davies our recent recruit. Davies has already shown that he will be a valuable asset and when he settles into the side, don`t be surprised to see some more improvement.

In third place was Brown with 13% of the vote. Despite picking up an early booking Michael battled well and made the midfield a combative place.

The other results were as follows -

Radzinski, Diop and Christanval all polled exactly 6% of the vote each.
