Mitrovic Earns Place in Team of the Week

Mitrovic Earns Place in Team of the Week

Aleksandar Mitrovic has been a revelation since Fulham persuaded Newcastle too allow the Serbian to come to Craven Cottage on loan for the remainder of the season.

In fact, I imagine there could be a few questions being asked by the Newcastle hierarchy as to why the Serbian was allowed to leave St James Park.

Since moving south, Mitrovic has scored 7 goals in 5 matches and has become an instant hero amongst the Craven Cottage support and has also more than played his part in Fulham equalling a club record fifteen game unbeaten run.

Now, I`m sure I`m not alone when I admit that come Monday morning, one of the first things I do after picking up a couple of tabloid publications, is look to see if any of the Fulham squad has been selected for the Team of the Week.

Often, I can be heard muttering under my breath, peeved that the eleven selected doesn`t contain any of our players, sometimes I ponder over the justification for including some players when, in the eleven, they`re selected in an alien position.

This morning though, even though it was a Monday and there`s a long week ahead of me in the office to navigate, I had a smile on my face when I saw the aforementioned Mitrovic had indeed been selected for the Football League team of the Week, mind you, on the form the Serbian is currently in, it`d take a brave man to leave him out would it not!

As for the other ten selected, do we really care?
