Preston North End 1 Fulham 2

Preston North End 1 Fulham 2

Fulham extended their unbeaten run, in the Championship, to fifteen games, beating Preston North End, courtesy of a stoppage-time winner.

However, Fulham had to battle hard against a Preston North End side who also have aspirations of getting into the play-offs come May.

After a first-half that was combative and equal, Fulham edged ahead in the sixty-ninth minute when Aleksandar Mitrovic continued his fine run of scoring form, by getting on the end of a ball from Cyrus Christie to beat Rudd in the Preston goal.

However, Preston fought back and in the seventy-sixth minute levelled when Sean Maguire saw his header beat Marcus Bettinelli in the Fulham goal.

With the game entering stoppage time, it looked as if the spoils would be shared, but in the ninety-first minute Mitrovic got on the end of a cross from Tom Cairney to score his second goal of the game and give Fulham all three points.

The win, Fulham`s tenth in the last twelve games, keeps Fulham firmly on track to play a major part in the forthcoming promotion shake-up, whilst Mitrovic, on loan from Newcastle United continues to provide the goals to boost Fulham`s chances of snatching one of the two automatic promotion places on offer. The Serbian has now scored 7 goals in his last 5 games.

Next up for Fulham is a tasty West London derby, against Queens Park Rangers, at Craven Cottage next Saturday.
