Queens Park Rangers 1 Fulham 2

Fulham took the three points on offer, in this West London derby, but had to survive a frantic ten minutes of stoppage time when it looked as if QPR would make a miraculous comeback and snatch a point.

The very welcome win was Fulham`s third in four away games whilst Ian Holloways beleaguered side have not won in their last five.

Fulham took the lead in the 41st minute and the goal had a piece of good fortune about it. Ryan Fredericks, pushing forward, unleashed a shot that took a heavy deflection off Jack Robinson leaving the QPR goalkeeper, Alex Smithies, wrongfooted and stranded.

As the game continued at a frantic pace, Fulham had a great chance to double their lead when they were awarded a penalty but Rui Fonte sent the ball sailing over the cross-bar.

But that second goal was to come soon after when Stefan Johansen doubled the lead with a low drive past Smithies in the QPR.

Having lost Sheyi Ojo to injury, with the on-loan Liverpool player suffering a dislocation, the stoppage time announced was ten minutes.

During those ten minutes QPR pulled a goal back when Conor Washington scored. The goal signalled an onslaught that saw Fulham just hang about hang on.

In those final few minutes Thomas Kalas was forced to hack the ball off the line and when the QPR goalkeeper, Alex Smithies rose high to meet the ball, the travelling support were relieved to see the ball go wide.

Six points from two away games inside a week, now that is more like it Fulham.
