And the New Season is Finally Upon Us

And the New Season is Finally Upon Us

In just over an hour or so, I`ll be leaving my humble abode and heading off toward Parson`s Green and a walk-through Bishop`s Park.

It`s a walk I`ve not taken since the Championship semi-final play-off,

No doubt, as I weave my merry way towards Craven Cottage I`ll be thinking that this will be the year we make a return to the Premier League.

But then again, I have to admit those are the same thoughts that flood through my head ahead of every season.

But to come so close last season whilst retaining almost all of the squad that served us so well last season means I`m more optimistic than ever.

Naturally, there are fears that we may suffer an early season hangover, courtesy of what happened in those playoffs but Slavisa Jokanovic, in discussing that very thought with the media, has helped ease them with the boss remarking,

"Who was it we lost to - Sheffield Wednesday? I have forgotten all about it, it is I the past and I care only about the present and the future.

"There is no time to cry about what happened, it is last season. The priority is now.

"The players here are ready from what I have seen in pre-season.

"The press like to ask if we are one of the favourites to go up, we will only know next May.

"Last year no one thought we would be in the top six."

Come on Fulham, let`s get this season off to a great start with a win this afternoon, against Norwich City.
