England Win European U19 Championships
You may have noticed that, here at Vital Fulham, we`ve been following the European U19 Championships, over in Georgia.
The prime reason being that two Fulham youngsters, Ryan Sessegnon and Tayo Edun, have been featuring regularly for the side.
Having reached the final, in which they met Portugal, the England U19 side continued their magnificent run of form to win the trophy.
The youngsters took the lead courtesy of a goal from the Aston Villa youngster, Esash Suliman, but were soon level when just six minutes later a spectacular own goal from the Chelsea youngster, Dujon Sterling, gave Portugal hope of winning the competition.
Thankfully, the Manchester City youngster, Lukas Nmecha, was on hand to grab the winner, ensuring that the England U19 side won the tournament for the first time ever.
Unfortunately, the game didn`t have the best of endings for one of the aforementioned youngsters with Tayo Edun being shown a red card after picking up two yellow cards.
Our congratulations go to the whole squad but especially Ryan and Tayo who can now enjoy their pre-season break.
