Berbatov Chasing Premier League Return

Berbatov Chasing Premier League Return

When the Bulgarian international Dimitar Berbatov, arrived at Craven Cottage it was something of a transfer coup for Fulham Football Club.

The striker was never somebody who was going to work his butt off for the side, his languid style just wasn`t suited to that side of the game.

But the player definitely had an eye for goal and many a time his remarkable skills had the Craven Cottage support on their feet cheering and applauding.

Now 36-years-of-age, the Bulgarian is without a club although it doesn`t appear as if he has any plans to retire.

In fact, according to Sky Sports, Berbatov was offered a chance to make a sensational return to the Premier League this season.

Talking to the Goals on Sunday duo of Chris Kamara and Ben Shepherd, Dimitar, remarked,

'I want to play and to be honest I had a couple of conversations with managers, even the Sunderland one.

'But in the end nothing happened.

'Of course, at this stage of my life it's only about football now.

'Just to play a little bit more, one more game or one more year. To enjoy my team-mates, the football, the pitch, the fans. But as I said nothing came of it in the end.'

After being out of the game since leaving PAOK Salonika, my gut feeling is that, despite his ambition, we`ll not see Dimitar grace the Premier League again.
