Fulham 2 Blackburn 2 - Views from the Bench

Fulham 2 Blackburn 2 - Views from the Bench

When your side concedes a late goal, a goal that sees the three points you had in the bag become just one point, it can be a gut-wrenching feeling.

Walking back through Bishops Park last night, following the 2-2 draw I, like a lot of Fulham supporters, was pondering over what might have been.

A win would have seen Fulham leap over Sheffield Wednesday into the top six and occupy one of the four Championship play-off places.

Of course, my mind was already in overdrive and I was stood in the Wembley stands celebrating a Play-Off Final win and a place in the Premier League.

But, following the disappointment of the dropping of two points Slavisa Jokanovic remained philosophical in his post-match interview with the media, remarking,

'It's frustrating but it's a part of the competition, we have scored many times in the last moments of games.

'In the first half we dominated and scored the goal. Second half we didn't dominate the game, we didn't control them and at the end we made some mistakes.

'We didn't have enough experience to kill the game when we scored the second goal, we gave them the chance to come back.

'We're going to fight to be in this top six at the beginning of May. We have to keep going and push hard.'

And I reckon our chances of finishing in the top six, if we stop dropping points at home, are good.

As for the Blackburn Rovers manager, Tony Mowbray, he saw his side maintain their unbeaten run since he took over the managerial hot-seat and had this to say to the media,

'I think for the group, it's important to try and keep the run going.

'They showed great effort and had that desire not to lose the match against a really good football team, who can press you back with their passing.

'They have to keep doing it, they have to keep producing it week in week out.'

With Blackburn Rovers struggling for their Championship lives, hopefully they can take points off of a few other teams in the Championship play-off places shake up!
