Fulham: ' Bits'

Fulham boss Chris Coleman admits any deal for New England Revolution striker Clint Dempsey will depend on the USA international qualifying for a work permit.
'Dempsey's work permit application has to go to a tribunal,' said Coleman.

'I'm hoping they'll give us a good decision because I've rated him for a long time. Hopefully we can bring him across.'

Fulham goalkeeper Antti Niemi was discharged from hospital on Monday after being cleared of any spinal damage in a neck injury suffered in their 0-0 Premier League draw at home to Watford.

The Finland international had flipped in the air while attempting a clearance and landed heavily on his head, nine minutes into the second half at Craven Cottage.

He was taken to hospital and Fulham later issued a statement saying: "He was reviewed by the doctors there and was cleared of any spinal cord or spinal column injury.

"Therefore, the injury sustained is believed to be related to the soft tissue (the ligaments and muscles)."

Niemi was released from hospital and was not in a neck brace, the club said, adding he "will undergo further investigations over the next few days, after which a full prognosis will be issued."

Play was stopped for seven minutes while he was treated and laid on a stretcher with his neck in a brace. — Reuters

I hope it is true. He had a blinding WC, and he won that Amarican journalist's award thing. He sounds like he could be World Class, and he would be the perfect buy, now that Luis Boa Morte has gone. Get well soon Niemi!!!!!!
