Volz extends contract.

Fulham's Moritz Volz has signed an extension to his contract that will see him play at the Club until the summer of 2009.

Volz joined Fulham on a permanent contract from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee in January 2004, having spent a six month loan spell at the Cottage. The twenty three year-old German born defender, joined Arsenal from Schalke 04 in June 1999 and made his debut as a substitute in the Worthington Cup. A loan spell at Wimbledon followed, where he became a regular feature and he continues to be part of the German national team set-up.

Moritz Volz said:

I am very glad that I have now signed my extension with the Club. I am happy to be playing again and I am looking forward to the things that come now. Things are going well here and we want to progress as a team, and I believe the next couple of results are key in what we can hope to achieve this season.

'We always look to improve our performances as a team and obviously for me, as an individual as well. So I`m glad I`m playing regularly again and I want to make sure I keep in the team, and that we do well.`

This is a step in the right direction, it is good to see players having the confidence in the club to want to stay......good news!!

I suppose another way of looking at this is when another team comes in for him we should get good money!!....lol

Oh you pessimistic sod, true though! but what can you do if a player wants to go because a 'bigger' club wants them? its better to get shot of em and have some dosh to get someone else who wants to play for the team!

I have always rated Moritz Volz since he was at Arsenal. And I am annoyed that he doesn't get very many games in the Premiership at the moment, but it is good to see him signing a new contract despite this, and I hope to see him play more games in the future. But I do find it wierd that Mr. Volz can get into the Germany World Cup squad, but can't make it into our own.

Needs more games before I can be really sure about him.
