Airplane winging his way to Fulham?

Airplane winging his way to Fulham?

Rumours are rife in Italy that Roma forward Vincenzo Montella is on his way to Fulham in January.

The Italian striker is keen to obtain regular football and is attracted by a possible switch to West London.

Milan have also shown an interest in 'The Airplane' but his ineligibility in Europe counts against a move to the San Siro.

After being left out of the side that defeated Valencia 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, the writing looks on the wall for Montella's future at Roma.

The former Sampdoria star has been unable to convince coach Luciano Spalletti to keep him on and Spalletti is prepared to allow the 32 year-old to leave the capital next month and Corriere dello Sport says Fulham are favourites to land the centre-forward.

I agree, but he's too old anyway and won't have the legs to keep up with the premiership!

Yes, I can see it happening. If he isn't getting regular first team football for Roma, they will be glad to get shot of him. Anyway, how can you say that he is too old, Teddy Sheringham is about 40 ad he is still playing (and scoring).
