Fulham: Yank will do dandy!

Fulham are being linked with a January move for USA international striker Clint Dempsey.

The Mirror says Cottagers boss Chris Coleman is preparing a £2 million bid for the USA international.

Charlton had a bid turned down for Dempsey in the summer but the 23-year-old says he intends to quit MLS side New England Revolution, possibly as early as January.

Fulham could emerge as contenders with doubts over the futures of Heidar Helguson and Collins John.

empsey can play as an attacking midfielder or a striker and the 23-year-old was upset that a move to Charlton collapsed in the summer and now wants to be allowed to fulfil his dream.

'I want to move on to Europe and try myself,' said Dempsey.

'I got some interest, got a little bit of buzz during the World Cup, and that's always been my goal.

'It's looking good, but there a lot of things that still have to happen.'

If we lose the 2 in January we really need to replace them and quick, 2 million seems fair!

He was one of the most noticed players in the world cup for the states.

Well I have never heard of him, surely Colman can find someone who most of the fans have heard of, Defoe will come cheap and he wants out of Tottenham.

He is the best Usa striker that still plays over here, £2m is a steal, we have to be realistic, we will never get anyone like Defoe, not only could we not afford the transfer fee we could not afford his wages either!

Yes I agree, Dempsey (if we get him) would be a good addition and we have to stay in the real world, we are a club that buys cheap players and make them famous, then a 'big' club comes in and pinches em!

Paper talk then if it was in the Mirror, the worst of the gutter press, lying scumbags!!!
