The Alamo Revisited?

The Alamo Revisited?

It`s expected that David Stockdale will keep the keepers` jersey for the fixture against Manchester City today.

Having kept a clean sheet against Newcastle last Saturday, our first since December 8th, Stockdale looks set to keep our Dutch keeper, Maarten Stekelenburg, on the bench.

Talking about the tough decision to drop Stekelenburg, last Saturday, Felix Magath is quoted in the press as having remarked,

"It wasn`t easy for Maarten but he reacted very well and we have had good training sessions."

"Last weekend the players did their job very well so you will not change a lot."

"If we don`t do very well then we have to change."

"If a player shows me he`s in good shape I will take him as I want to win and put the best players on the field."

Something tells me that up at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon, David Stockdale might feel a little bit like Davy Crockett!
