Just Like Signing a New Player!

Was it just a co-incidence that our defence looked far more solid after the return of Brede Hangeland or did it show how good the all Norwegian really is at holding our defence together?

This afternoon, over at the Emirates Stadium our defensive resolve will be severely tested when we take on high-flying Arsenal.

However, on the eve of the clash, Rene Meulensteen has spoken about the return of Brede, remarking,

"It was very good to see him back. It`s been a big boost for us and for him. He`s been very important over the years."

"He`s an experienced central defender who is calm on the ball ad capable of playing out of the back and feeding the ball to the midfield."

"His calmness transfers to the rest of the players. He`s an attacking threat in the opposition box as well with set-plays and corners."

"It really is like having a new signing because as long as I`ve been at the club I`ve had no access to him."

It's been way too long. Welcome back Brede. I think Burn did reasonably well along side of him. To get thrown in against Arsenal in your full debut is tough. I hope we see more of these two together. I am in the ABS camp though - Anyone But Senderos.
