Newcastle Berbatov Interest

With there being some doubt about the Fulham future of Dimitar Berbatov, Newcastle United are reported to be the first Premier League club to show an interest in the Bulgarian striker.

Berbatov has, previously, implied that he wants to leave Craven Cottage in January but also that he isn`t interested in a move to Turkey but wants to remain the Premier League.

Whilst Rene Meulensteen has suggested he wants to keep the Bulgarian at the club, it is also intimated that he`ll not keep an unhappy player.

Up at St James Park, Alan Pardew is acutely aware that Berbatov`s contract is up this summer and that the player could be available for a fee as little as 2 million.

Now whether Berbatov fancies a move to the north-east or not remains to be seen, as does whether Meulensteen can persuade the striker to stay!

Personally, although Berbatov can, at times, be something of a luxury his presence in the side does give us that bit of extra class going forward.

What are your views?

Do you want all the stops to be pulled out to keep Berbatov at Craven Cottage or should we just call it quits and let him leave?

I'm sure there'll be plenty of interest, but if the player wants game time, then he should stay put.

I agree with Deuce. Berb's got to have his agent take back the early comment of being unhappy at Fulham or shut up...Either Berb's going to stay or go, but during the interim, can't let the news and worry about it affect the players...especially Berb's, he's a White and needs to play with only that focus.
