Karagounis Edges Closer

Karagounis Edges Closer

Our ageing, nay ancient Greek midfielder, Giorgos Karagounis, saw his Greece side almost book their tickets to the World Cup Finals, in Brazil, last night.

Having made the play-offs, after finishing second in their group, Greece were given a two legged play-off game against Romania with the winner going to the finals.

Last night Greece played their home leg and romped to a 3-1 win, meaning that barring a disaster in Romania, the Greeks will be on the plane to Brazil.

I say - barring a disaster, because the Greeks have become something of experts when it comes to defensive play and if they can hold any Romanian attacks at bay, in the early stages, feel it`ll be a job well done.
