'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Its down to Colemans fitness regime!

Fulham goalkeeper Antti Niemi believes Fulham are benefiting from Chris Coleman's intensive training schedule this season.

'The training has been good this season,'

Said Niemi.

'We've made some good comebacks this season - it can't be a coincidence that we came back against Bolton, Newcastle and now against Watford. The training has been hard but there is a good bunch of lads here and the dressing room is good so it's always nice to come in.

'Being 34 years old, I've noticed that I need the physical side of training more than ever. When you get older, you need to take better care of yourself.

'I'm lifting more weights and really enjoying the training. Physically I'm fitter than I've ever been.'

But Niemi is not the only one to say this, you would think that considering the fitness regime is so good that the injuries would be cut down!

This does not always follow, I am sure Micheal Owen is a very fit football player but he is constantly injured.
Cravens
Yes but don't you think with players like Owen, Rooney and Lennon etc that because they are pushed too far at a very early age that they then start to suffer with injury problems.
loubie
Good point Loubie, it does seem like it does'nt it, alot of the teenage superstars aways seem to get plagued with injury problems as they get into their careers.
fulham usa
I am sure that this is being noticed by the clubs but do they really care, playing the young footballing wizards sells tickets and shirts so surely thats all that matters.
Cravens
There is loads of players that get injured alot, because they were strained when they were younger: Beckham, Owen, Rooney, Lennon, Neville ETC, ETC. The clubs don't really care, as long as when they are fit they play and help win games, selling tickets and shirts, and when they are injured, trying to get them back as fast as they can, because they can't cope with out them.

coleman was again favourite to get the sack and is proving the critics wrong.
dazza71
Good to know your manager is doing something right. He is a good manager with a very positive future.
jono_forest
He is always the media's favourite for the chop, but yet again he is showing the media that they talk through their collective a***s.
Cravens
whatever he's doing, it's working! You boys are doing good!!
