Monday night`s unbelievable survival at Vicarage Road drew mixed feelings from Fulham Manager Chris Coleman.
The Cottagers looked to have achieved an incredible comeback, having battled back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2.
However it was'nt to be as Ashley Young`s last minute volley meant Fulham would leave Vicarage road with only 1 point.
Coleman although being happy with the balls his side showed on the night, Coleman was disappointed not have taken three points from the game and who can blame him!
"At two-nil down we were trying to do what Watford are good at, which is knocking long balls and pressing - very much route one. We`re not good at that, but we decided to mirror them.
"We had a chat at half time, we had to get the ball down and start playing. But then within 60 seconds it`s two-nil. To be fair to our guys, they stuck at it and kept going.
"At three-two I was thinking, 'fantastic, job done,` but it was a great finish by Young. It was disappointing because we worked so hard and showed a lot of courage to get back into the game. We worked on set pieces for most of the week because Watford are very organised at set pieces and long throws. So it was disappointing to concede a goal like that. But hats off to Watford, they didn`t give up, they came straight back."
Fulham`s team effort changed almost unrocognisably after the introduction of Tomasz Radzinski, Wayne Routledge and Brian McBride. The American striker showed what he was about with a fine display of link up play alongside Heidar Helguson and managed to get his name on the score sheet with a fine volley.
Coleman added.....
"Brian`s not 100% fit," he explained. "Both he and Ian Pearce have had viruses. I should have taken Ian off but we had to get some goals back.
"Brian is now starting to come into his own. He`s been playing non-stop for the past three seasons, he hasn`t had any rest in the summer and it`s taken him a bit of time to get into his stride."
