Hughes Is Back

Hughes Is Back

We`re two games into the new season and one noticeable change to last season is the return to the starting eleven of Aaron Hughes.

Last season Martin Jol seemed to have a preference for Philippe Senderos with Hughes often on the bench.

This season, although it is early days, Hughes is back alongside Brede Hangeland as the duo attempt to shore up the defence.

With an international break coming up, after next weekend, Hughes will be making the trip to join up with the Northern Ireland squad as they prepare to face Portugal (h) and Luxembourg (a).

We`ve no doubt that Aaron will give his usual competent displays at the heart of the defence and I, for one, am glad to see him back.
