Watford V Fulham Q&A part 2....

Watford V Fulham Q&A part 2....

We asked the editor of Vital Watford some probing questions, here are his replies....

1...What is your match prediction and who do you think the scorers will be (if any)?

Hopefully we can pick up our first three points of the season tonight. At the start of the season before our unlucky start Fulham at home always stood out as a match where we would have to get three points from if we were to avoid relegation. It would be nice to see King and particularly the underrated Darius Henderson on the scoresheet.

2.. What do you think your Line-up will be?

Possibly (4-4-2) Foster; DeMerit, Mackay, Shittu, Stewart; Smith, Francis, Mahon, Young; King, Henderson.

3...How well do you think Watford will do this season?

At the moment our position in the league is a false one because we are playing well but cannot turn performances into points. Once King and Henderson start scoring regularly (which they will) we will be OK. I predict a 15th place finish.

4...Who do you think will be the Watford player to watch this season?

en Foster. He is in his last season at the club since joining on loan from Manchester United in the summer of 2005 and looks ready to become United’s Number One. Foster has forced his way into the England squad and it only looks a matter of time until he becomes a regular at international level.

5...Who do you think will be Watford's highest goal-scorer this season?

The same as last season: Marlon King. The King of Vicarage Road was arguably the bargain of last season costing half a million from Forest took the Championship by storm and became the league’s top goalscorer. King will make the step up in class to Premiership level.

6.What do you know about Fulham?

Apart from you having a decent side in the 60s/ Johnny Haines/Jimmy Hill/Al Fayed and a neutral stand (why?), not a lot really. But I had a great day out at the Cottage when we won the Division Two title of the final day of the season in 1998.

7...Do you think that Aidy Boothroyd will stay at Watford?

In football nothing lasts forever so eventually he will move on. But Aidy has four years left on his five-year plan and his Watford contract, and intends to see the job out. He strikes me as a loyal person and one who will not forget the ‘gamble’ took by the Watford board when appointing an unknown 34-year-old with no previous managerial experience as Watford manager.

8...Do you think that bigger clubs will start to put in offers for Marlon

If he starts banging in the goals then possibly but King too has a contract until 2010.

9.If so do you think that Watford would sell him?

very player has a price but if Gary McSheffrey is worth £4million I would not like to put a price on Marlon King.

We would like to thank Dean (Watford site editor)for his help in this double Q&A.

Its going to be a hard game and I really am getting to the point where I am not sure how it will go.

I know what you mean but I still think that we can do it even with our injuries.

What a game, I got this completely wrong, I think that Watford played well and if it was'nt for the final 15 minutes could have won their 1st game of the season.

We let in two cheap goals and a last minuete strike, to draw the game. Where has our form gone????????????? I am starting to get angry a Chris Coleman. A lose against Wycombe and a draw against Watford. He is getting worse. Sack 'im and get in Sven 'The Moron' Erecsonn.
