Go For Bent!

If Martin Jol is looking to bolster our attacking force, then could he do worse than taking a punt on Darren Bent?

Already mentioned in dispatches as a possible Fulham target, it now looks as if the field is clear for somebody to make a swoop to land the former England international.

It is being reported that Bent`s situation, at Aston Villa, is so bad that he`s now being asked to vacate the first team dressing room and train away from the first team squad, by Paul Lambert.

Therefore, I reckon a quick swoop, at a sensible price, could end his Villa nightmare.

Why not? He is a proven goal scorer and will provide us with an extra attacking threat. We would get 2-3 good seasons out of him before he begins to lose his pace.

Surprised no one has signed him yet. I think at £6-8m he is a bargain. 29 years old and proven. Play to his strengths and he guarantees 15-20 goals. He was brilliant for us under Houllier, but Paul Lambert is adopting a completely different style of play that doesn't suit DB9. I believe he only scored 5 league and cup goals last season, but only made about 12 starts. A bargain for someone IMO provided you want to build your team around is style of play
