Spurs 0 Fulham 1

Fulham surprised a lot of supporters with a fine away win at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Dimitar Berbatov, making a return to the stage he once graced, was the man who did the damage, in the second half.

Martin Jol named an unchanged side and the first half was a pretty dull affair. Early on, Bale had a header cleared off the line by Sascha Riether but chances in the first half hour were very rare.

Bale unleashed a shot that flew over the bar and the only other action of any standing came when Lloris made a hash of a cross from Berbatov which almost saw Ruiz capitalize.

The second half was much better and Fulham took the lead in the 52nd minute. Bale had an effort saved and a lightning counter attack was launched. Riether sped down the flank and when his cross was fed in, Berbatov slid in to convert.

Berbatov, wary of where he was, didn`t take part in any elaborate celebrations. Minutes later, Hangeland could have doubled Fulham`s lead when a corner was flicked on by Ruiz and he Norwegian`s header went just wide.

Andre Villas-Boas introduced Defoe to partner Adebayor and Schwarzer did we lot save when Defoe produced a shot on the turn. Although Spurs were pushing forward, camped in our half, chances were few and far between

When Spurs did find a way through, courtesy of Bale finding Defoe, Schwarzer was on hand to produce a fine save.

Game , set and match to Fulham.
