Ruing Two Dropped Points
When you are 2-0 up, away from home, you don`t expect to have to be satisfied with a share of the spoils.
But that is exactly what happened up at the Stadium of Light yesterday when Fulham surrendered a two goal lead prompting Martin Jol, in his post-match press conference, to moan,
"If you saw the first half we controlled the game and dominated and scored goals at the right time. I felt their penalty was a little soft. There was a bit of contact but it was never a penalty."
"Even in the second half we should have gone 3-1 up just before they equalised. It was disappointing and in hindsight we deserved more as everyone can be dragged into a difficult situation."
Echoes of that Great Escape season, but in reverse, anyone?

fulham won't fall into the relegation zone... disappointing, but the team should have tried to control more of the play in the second half... defended too much...
