Taxi For Manolev!

The enforced absence of Sascha Riether, due to a bug, gave one of our transfer deadline day signings, Stanislav Manolev, the opportunity to make his Fulham debut.

However, that wasn`t as straight forward as it seems on paper.

You see, although Manolev had been given a work permit, he wasn`t in the original squad that travelled up to Norfolk.

Aware that Riether wouldn`t be fit to play, Jol gave the instruction to bring Manolev to Norwich, in a taxi, from London.

The unusual manner in which his debut was achieved didn`t faze the Bulgarian international who gave a more than proficient display, prompting Jol to comment,

"He is a quality international."

"A few months ago, he was man of the match against Italy."

He, indeed, does look a class act.
