Utter Poppycock!

I`m not happy! How about you?

Having seen any hopes of winning a domestic trophy dashed 9again) with our FA Cup 4th round exit at Old Trafford, courtesy of a 4-1 thumping from Manchester United, Martin Jol seems to think it could be a good thing.

Speaking after our what appears to be our usual early exit, Jol spoke about our exit in a positive manner, inferring that our demise form the competition will enable us to concentrate on Premier League survival with Jol remarking,

"It`s no guarantee of safety but, on the other hand, I always like it if teams, especially those around us, have replays or stay in the cup."

"So, in that respect, it`s probably better to be out of it. It`s quite simple, we need four or five wins. But if you leave it until the end of the season, you could end up with a problem."

"If we win those games as soon as possible, it will be easier. I think you will need 36 or 37 points to be safe, at present, there are probably eight teams who are really concerned."

Now what concerns me are two points.

Firstly, if I`m not mistaken, it doesn`t appear too long ago that Jol was inferring we were too good to go down and that we had too much class to be embroiled in a relegation fight.

Secondly, whatever happened to the feel good factor a good cup run brings to a club!

Like the title says, utter poppycock Mr Jol!
